Google Magic: How to find a niche topic within a niche in 2 seconds Written by: Maujhuri Chakraborty
No it’s not about Google Zeitgeist . It’s a little hidden tool very few people knows about (at the time of writing this article) ....
Yesterday, during my weekly hour of ‘web hunting’ , looking for information on a niche,. I decided to give Google's new tool ’Google Suggest’ … a spin.
Now some of you may be already aware of this incredible tool Google have released from their lab couple of months back . But for benefit of those who are reading about it for the first time…it’s an experimental Tool by Google that gives search suggestions, in real time, while you type.
What makes this tool almost magical, from an information marketers viewpoint is it’s capability to provide, you with a playground to explore and find things about your niche that you may not even dreamt of !!
I came up with two sub niche topics within seconds …something I’ve not even considered for the market I was researching
Though I’ll not mention the project I’m working on, here’s an example to give you an idea how to use it:
I visited Google Suggest Home Page and Typed “Toddler” (without the quotes)
Google suggested
“Toddler beds”
“Toddler bed”
“Toddler Games”
“Toddler activities”
“Toddler toys”
“Toddler shoes”
“Toddler development”
“Toddler bedding”
Remember, these suggestions are based on the search activities of people "actually searching" using the term “Toddler”
Next I chose one of the suggested term Google returned (check the above list) “Toddler bed” and hit the spcaebar of my keyboard.
Google returned a new set of topics containing the term “Toddler bed”
“Toddler bed sheets”
“Toddler bed rail”
“Toddler bed plans”
“Toddler bed sets”
“Toddler bed mattress”
“Toddler bed tent”
“Toddler bedding”
“Toddler bedding set”
Next I picked up “Toddler bedding” from the second set of suggested terms and there’s again..... the Magic of Google at work.
I got yet another set of suggested “search terms” !!
“Toddler bedding sets”
“Toddler bedding for girls”
“Toddler bedding boys”
“Toddler bedding Disney princess”
“Toddler bedding sheets”
“Toddler bedding trucks”
“Toddler bedding elmo”
Can you see the power of this “magic tool” Google offers ?
Within seconds you can come up with several branches of your niche topic using it .
Note: Try both “with a space” and “without a space” after choosing the returned search term , you will often find some more branches. Also try with the plurals….”s” and without "s" , try variations of your key phrase too and watch.
Go give it a try now.
