To Find The Pearls From The Hidden Web For Your Info Publishing Business:A Free Research Tool That Can Save You A Lot Of Time, If Used Correctly Written by: Maujhuri Chakraborty
Researching topics for your information product or publishing service?
Find how to dig out quality information, not found through the popular search engines, by correctly using this Free Research tool.
I have already written about how important a role the specialized databases plays while researching a topic of your interest.
The problem is.... finding these databases.
Though there is no 'one fit for all' research tool, but Intelliseek's www.Profusion.com previously known as Invisibleweb.com can help you find relevant information from the deep web, specially if your looking for topics in food and nutrition or health related topics.
Profusion has been designed, such that it passes your queries to appropriate invisible web resources, returning results which may not be available to ordinary search engines. Some of the results it throws back comes directly out of databases, that can be retrieved only by using search forms in their respective sites.
For example if you do a search with "food safety" it returns results from several government databases .
If you next click on “Business directories” it will return a new set of results for your key phrase “food safety” in “Business directories”.
In addition to retrieving data from the hidden web resources, it also pulls out data from search engines including AltaVista, MSN Search and Yahoo. Unfortunately it doesn't use Google's database.
Another nice utility it provides, not normally found in other search engines, is it's 'Set page alert link' .
If you set the alert it will rerun your search each week and notify you via email, if there are new or different results....thus saving you a lot of time when you are researching for a particular topic.
Like Google , it also provides a similar sites utility .
I've often found useful resources from the topic search from its home page as well.
Spend some time playing around with this research tool, especially if your niche is related to health, weight loss, and other food related topic.
It will definitely help you to cut down your research time.
