Live Example of how to use Public Domain Resources For Big Profits
Written by: Maujhuri Chakraborty

Once I got a mail from a subscriber saying 'If you can show me quality public domain materials ,I 'll then buy your..' etc  etc.....

Sorry mah friend!  There is nothing called 'quality' public domain material . The diamond IS there, but only a seeker's eye can identify it

So How to find the Diamond in the Rough?

While you can start with www.first.gov as a gateway, there are zillion of other sites  available.

I suggest, you take time to explore the Public Domain Resources in the member area. Make it a point to check the resources  in the  'Public Domain Maps' and 'From Invisible Resources' sections thoroughly.  These resources were compiled with a purpose… almost every one of them is easily convertible to information products catering to a niche market.

What about an example?

Sure. There are several instances of sites selling products created out of Public Domain material and I'll continue to write about them.

But for now check this site .

They are selling ' Royalty-Free Footage CDs' and one of their subcategories contain images from World War -II , Civil War times, Working Women during World War etc..... all of which are already available in the Public Domain (yes! You will get the source from the Members’ Resource mentioned above to give you a start)

These CDs are being sold for prices like '25 images for $599.00' !! Their probable niche is documentary and other film makers, who don't have the time to search and find these.  And perhaps more importantly, will not think twice to pay the amount, for a collection of such images.

If you are surprised by this...stay tuned, there are more such examples to come.

But the point is… in order to turn 'public domain' materials to diamonds, you got to know and study  the market you are targeting first, as the folks in above example are doing.
